What does commercial floor cleaning include?

Hard floors take a beating in commercial buildings. Grit, spills and foot traffic dull the surface, and dirty floors become slip hazards. We keep VCT, ceramic and porcelain tile, sealed concrete and warehouse floors clean with routine machine scrubbing and periodic deep cleaning.

This page covers ongoing floor care: auto-scrubbing, burnishing and deep scrubbing that maintain the existing finish. When a resilient floor needs its old finish removed and new coats applied, that is a separate job; see our floor stripping and waxing service.

Floor care can run on its own schedule or as part of a nightly janitorial program, so daily dust mopping and damp mopping lead into periodic machine work without gaps.

Clean floors also protect your investment. Grit acts like sandpaper on floor finish, so removing it regularly helps the surface last longer and reduces how often costly restoration work is needed.

  • Auto-scrubbing of corridors, lobbies and open floor areas
  • High-speed burnishing to restore gloss on finished floors
  • Deep scrubbing of VCT and resilient floors between refinishes
  • Tile and grout scrubbing in washrooms and kitchens
  • Sealed concrete and warehouse floor scrubbing
  • Edge and corner detailing where machines cannot reach
  • Entrance and elevator lobby floors cleaned of tracked-in grit
  • Scuff and black mark removal

How often should commercial floors be scrubbed?

Frequency depends on traffic and floor type. Busy entrances, food courts and washrooms may need nightly auto-scrubbing, while office corridors often need it weekly. Burnishing is usually scheduled weekly or monthly to keep finished floors glossy between refinishes. Washroom tile often needs weekly grout scrubbing.

Deep scrubbing is periodic work, often monthly or quarterly, and it extends the time between full strip-and-wax cycles. Rainy Lower Mainland winters bring extra grit and water through entrances, so entrance care often increases from October to March.

We schedule machine work at night, early morning or on weekends so floors are dry before your doors open. Warehouses and shops can be scrubbed in zones between shifts. We serve sites from Surrey to Langley and Delta; see all commercial cleaning services for related work.

FAQ

Commercial floor cleaning FAQs

What is the difference between floor scrubbing and stripping and waxing?

Scrubbing and burnishing clean and maintain the existing floor finish. Stripping removes the old finish completely so new coats can be applied. Regular scrubbing extends the time between refinishes, which are handled by our floor stripping and waxing team.

Which floor types do you clean?

We clean VCT, vinyl, linoleum, ceramic and porcelain tile, sealed concrete, epoxy-coated floors and warehouse floors. Carpeted areas are handled through our commercial carpet cleaning service.

Can you clean floors without disrupting operations?

Yes. We scrub and burnish at night, early in the morning or on weekends, and we work in sections so part of the floor stays open when needed. Machines are sized to suit corridors, aisles and open areas.

Do you clean warehouse and industrial floors?

Yes. We scrub sealed concrete in warehouses, shops and distribution spaces. Oil and grease stains on outdoor concrete are handled by our concrete degreasing service.

How long before floors can be walked on?

Auto-scrubbers pick up water as they clean, so most floors are dry within a short time. We use wet-floor signs until every area is safe. Burnished floors can be used right away.

Is your floor care team insured?

Yes. We carry $5,000,000 commercial general liability insurance, are bonded and have active WorkSafeBC coverage. Our team members are WHMIS-trained. Supervisors inspect work and keep daily logs.

Can floor scrubbing be added to our janitorial contract?

Yes. Many clients combine nightly cleaning with weekly or monthly machine scrubbing and burnishing, so one team is responsible for the condition of the floors.

How do I get a floor cleaning quote?

Call us or send a request. We visit to check floor types, square footage and traffic, then send a written quote with a recommended schedule. We reply within one business day.
